NEW flagship, all-wheel-drive versions of Volkswagen's ID.7 will soon be arriving in the UK with increased performance from dual-motor technology and more dynamic exterior styling.

The new GTX hatchback and estate models add a performance edge to the ID.7 range and come with the same 86 kWh battery as the ID.7 Pro S Match derivatives, but the addition of a front motor results in a power increase of 53bhp, to 335bhp.

The ID.7 GTX is currently the most powerful electric vehicle produced by Volkswagen, powering from standstill to 62 mph in just 5.4 seconds with the ID.7 GTX Tourer a fraction of a second slower at 5.5 seconds.

The hatchback has a range of 366 miles while the Tourer can travel 359 miles on a single charge. Both can be charged at up to 200 kW DC, meaning that a top up from 10 to 80 per cent of battery capacity can take as little as 26 minutes.

Enhanced specifications over the Pro Match trim bring 20-inch Skagen alloy wheels, GTX exterior styling, ventilated and heated massage seats in the front and heated rear seats, a Harman Kardon sound system and Volkswagen's DCC adaptive chassis control system complete with driving profile selection.

Other standard features include LED matrix headlights illuminated Volkswagen logos at the front and rear, unique GTX daytime running lights, an augmented-reality head-up display, GTX-specific interior styling and Volkswagen's IDA voice assistant with integrated ChatGPT.

Prices start at £61,980 for the hatchback, with the ID.7 Tourer costing from £62,670. Order books are open from August 1.
