PEUGEOT has cut the price of four of its electric models as it introduces a new care warranty scheme for its EVs.

The Allure Care warranty covers the electric motor, onboard charger, transmission and main electrical and mechanical components for up to eight years or 100,000 miles and complements the existing warranty which already applies to the high voltage battery.

The warranty is activated automatically and free of charge for two years - or 16,000 miles - after each service in the Peugeot-approved aftersales network.

It is also reducing the price of the E-208 electric hatchback and the E-2008 SUV by £3,000 with the two models now available from £28,600 and £32,700 respectively.

Price cuts are also coming to the larger E-308 hatch and the SW estate variant which are reduced by £1,500 with these models now starting from £38,550 and £39,750.

Eurig Druce, managing director of Peugeot UK, said: "With Europe's widest range of mainstream electric vehicles, we are committed to ensuring our customers have greater choice when making the switch to electric.

"The simultaneous introduction of the Peugeot Allure Care Warranty and new pricing structure reflects this commitment, and is designed to make the transition to battery electric vehicles as smooth as possible, and with total peace of mind so that more people can enjoy the benefits of driving electric."
