YET another new trim option has been added to several Volkswagen models to tempt potential buyers.

It's all about style with the new Black Edition versions of the Polo, Golf, Taigo and T-Roc models and additional features on each include bigger alloy wheels, black styling elements, upgraded lights, heated front seats and wireless charging.

The styling elements differ by model but include black roof, roof rails, alloy wheels, mirror housings and decorative trim, as well as tinted rear windows.

Confusingly the standard body colour for the Polo, T-Roc and Taigo Black Editiion is white, while grey is the standard colour for Golf. Other colours - including, presumably, black - are available as options.

The new Black Edition trim level sits above R-Line in each of the model ranges with Polo and Taigo versions priced £500 more than the equivalent R-Line models while the Golf and T-Roc Black Edition cost £1,000 more.

They might cost more, but Volkswagen reckons that the added features offer big savings with an extra £3,875 worth of kit on the T-Roc, £3,185 on the Golf, £2,765 on the Polo and £2,675 on the Taigo..

If you've got nothing better to do on election day, the new Black Edition models are available to order from the fourth of July at your local Volkswagen dealer.
