MINI is expanding its offerings with a new five-door version of the Cooper.
Built at the company's factory in Oxford, the new MINI Cooper 5 Door is available with the choice of two petrol engines only.
At 4,036mm in length, 1,744mm in width and a height of 1,464 mm, the MINI Cooper 5 Door is almost identical in dimension to its predecessor.
Its wheelbase is 72mm longer and 172mm longer than the MINI Cooper 3 Door launched earlier in 2024, giving passengers increased space and more boot room.
The newcomer is priced from £24,050 for the MINI Cooper C and £28,450 for the more powerful MINI Cooper S and first deliveries are expected in August.
The Cooper C has a 1.5-litre three cylinder engine which develops 156hp and has a 0 to 62mph time of eight seconds with a maximum of 140mph while the S model has 204hp 2.0-litre and completes the sprint in 6.8 seconds with a top speed of 150mph.
Fuel economy at best is rated at 47 to the gallon and 44.8mpg respectively and both cars have a seven-speed DCT transmission. There is no manual option and emissions range from 136g/km to 141g/km.
As with the Cooper 3 Door the larger version comes in three trims - Classic, Exclusive and Sport - and all feature the new 24cm round OLED instrument display in the centre of the dash.
Sport trim offers Sports Transmission with shift paddles on the steering wheel, a distinctive front and rear design featuring a high-gloss black hexagonal patterned grill surround and logo, and a rear spoiler with airblades.
Behind the steering wheel is a head up display, ensuring all relevant content appears in the driver's field of vision.
Seven MINI Experience Modes are available on the new MINI Cooper -: Core, Green, Go-Kart, Personal, Vivid, Timeless and Balance - with each having specially designed backgrounds giving drivers the opportunity to personalise the display.
Boot space is larger than the three-door at 275 litres and with the rear seats folded that increases to 925 litres - up from the 800 litres of space available in the smaller version.
