Chevy reveals
fastest ever
Corvette
THE most powerful standard Corvette ever to hit the road arrives this autumn, with prices from £61,495.
Chevrolet says its new seventh generation Stingray will only be available as a left-hand drive coupe and, tuned for European roads, will feature the brand's Z51 performance pack as standard.
That means the likes of an enhanced aero package for high-speed stability, an electronic limited-slip differential, specific shocks, springs and stabiliser bars, 19 and 20-inch wheels plus larger brakes.
Power comes via an all-new 6.2-litre V8 engine mated to a seven-speed manual transmission and 0-60mph acceleration from the 460bhp unit is predicted to dip below the 4.0 seconds mark.
You also get the new tablet-inspired Chevrolet MyLink connected radio with two eight-inch display screens, USB port, SD card and auxiliary input jacks, as well a centre screen that lowers for device storage.
There are also options like metallic paint at £600, sat-nav for £1,450 and black aluminium wheels for £550.
Chevrolet Europe chief Susan Docherty said: "Corvette has inspired millions across generations and the new Stingray is no exception.
"It is more than a car, it is a statement of intent by drivers who want the pure exhilaration that's tantamount with the name Corvette."
