A STUNNING four-door, rear wheel drive sports saloon is to be revealed by Kia as a concept car at next month's Frankfurt Motor Show.

The super-sleek model looks capable of rivalling the likes of the Mercedes CLS, Jaguar XF and even a Maserati Quattroporte.

Styled by Kia's design chief Peter Schreyer the concept is understood to have a V8 powertrain similar to that used by sister company Hyundai in the Genesis saloon.

With rearward opening ‘suicide' doors at the back, the concept model is a four-seater and luxuriously appointed inside with leather upholstery and trim.

Kia says no decision has been made whether the concept will make it into production but the design of the car - especially the so-called tiger nose grille - gives a clue of the brand's thinking for its next generation of models, including the new European built cee'd which is due to make its debut next year.

The Korean company will also be showing an update to the trendy Soul model and a three-door version of the new Rio hatchback at the Frankfurt show which kicks off on September 13.
