AFTER finishing last year as the best selling UK car brand for December, Vauxhall is now lining up to take on its rvals in the March, 2010 new registration stakes.

The brand sold some 16,548 cars in December, 2010, the Astra leading the way with 5,377, closely followed by the Corsa with 4,737 units finding new homes in a year which saw Vauxhall overall new car sales in excess of 80,000.

Leading the way and available to order now is a new addition to the Corsa range, the VXR Blue.

This limited edition is a high specification model featuring new bold styling detail with additional kit as standard and is finished in a startling head-turning Arden Blue metallic paint job.

Mounted on 18-inch alloys, a generous kit level includes the likes of dark tinted glass, bespoke interior air vents and sporty Recaro seats.

Powered by Vauxhall's lightweight 1.6 turbo petrol engine, which develops 190bhp, VXR Blue boasts a 0-60mph time of just 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 140mph, plus an overboost feature when needed.

With a lowered sports suspension, uprated brakes and switchable electronic stability programme, the Corsa Blue is designed to please the enthusiastic driver and is attractively priced at £19,425.

Heading for the 4x4 scene is Vauxhall's latest version of the Antara Sport Utility Vehicle.

Coming to market with a fresh new look inside and out, Antara features two wheel drive and a cleverly adaptive four-wheel-drive system which switches automatically as road conditions demand.

The new Antara is recognisable by an updated front grille and distinctive new Griffin logo. With pricing starting at under £20,000, for the 2.2 CDTI model, this is almost £3,000 less than the outgoing model.

Also heading for UK showrooms on March 1 will be Vauxhall's latest rear wheel drive V8 Super Saloon.

Sporting heavily revised front and rear styling and mounted on a new race bred chassis with full leather trim as standard, this latest Vauxhall mean machine also includes a host of driver enhancements to complement its fourth generation 6.2-litre 428bhp engine, and weighs in at £49,500.
